Womble details

  • Description

Womble is a rapidly spreading Internet worm that propagates by e-mail through messages with infected attachments. Once the user opens such an attachment, the parasite secretly installs itself to the system and starts to spread. Womble uses its own mail engine to send e-mail messages to addresses it gathers from the Windows Address Book, local text, program and web files. The worm does not carry any destructive payload. It runs on every Windows startup.
