Skenkly details

  • Description

Skenkly is a dangerous Internet worm that spreads by e-mail through letters with attached infected files and via instant messages sent using the AIM program. Once executed, the parasite secretly installs itself to the system and runs a spreading routine. It sends malicious e-mails to all the addresses in the Windows Address Book, some text documents and web files. These letters are being sent with attached archives containing copies of the worm. Skenkly also sends out a large number of malicious AIM messages. The parasite’s payload is extremely dangerous. Skenkly opens a back door and provides the remote attacker with full unauthorized access to the compromised computer. The intruder can log all user keystrokes, take screenshots, download and upload files, execute system commands, terminate running processes, disable the Windows Firewall, create and delete user accounts. Furthermore, he is allowed to modify essential system settings, spread the worm, retrieve the CD key of the Call of Duty game, run a hidden proxy server and restart the compromised computer. Skenkly runs on every Windows startup.
