You may download and use this logger, and modify it freely for your own purposes, and not add your name to it. If you decide to distribute it, however, with your own modifications, add your name to it and retain mine. Also, if you add files to this package, make sure you specify the authors of each file. Don't sell this, this is free. If you paid for this, you got ripped. That's all. DISCLAIMER (Legal crap): I provide this script as-is, with no warranty of any kind, implied or not. Do not whine to me if you have problems, try to figure it out and then post on the Cruel Intentionz forums. I provide this as an educational tool to help people learn how trojans work, or to examine PHP techniques. I myself do not make illegal use of this script. Do not blame me if something goes wrong. Report all bugs to bttf [email protected]. TUTORIAL: Okay, we're going to be installing the PHP logger on Tripod UK. The service is free, and you will get no ads that interfere with correct operation of the logger. 1. Go to tripod.co.uk and sign up for an account, like you would any other free host. You'll get a confirmation email and stuff. 2. Log in on their website, from the boxes at right. If you're already logged in, go to My Account on the left. 3. Scroll down to where it has PHP, Frontpage, and MySQL options. Click activate on the PHP part. 4. FTP to ftp.members.lycos.co.uk, using the provided FTP password. 5. Open up php-logger.php and configure the variables accordingly (means just read it from the top and do what it says). 7. Upload both the php-logger and vics files. Make sure to CHMOD the logfile (vics.txt) to 755, or 777 if that doesn't work. You only need to do this on a *nix host.If you want, you can rename the logfile and change the variable in the configuration for added security. 8. Test the logger using CIA Server Builder and your browser. 9. After you get it to work, re-upload the blank log file (vics.txt or whatever) and CHMOD it. 10. You're set! Most common problems: Q: The password entry form doesn't take me to the viewing page. A: You incorrectly specified $scriptlocation in the configuration portion of php-logger.php. Set it to the path of your script. Example: $scriptlocation = "http://members.lycos.co.uk/username/php-logger.php". Q: The Online/offline, tracert, ping, etc. won't work. A: At this time, PHP Logger doesn't support Reverse connecting for vics behind firewalls, and probably never will. Q: Why did you remove X feature? A: I probably didn't think it possible, useful, or necessary. So I saved myself the trouble and removed it :-D. Q: The FTP link doesn't work. A: Your browser does not support the use of FTP links, or you are not using the same username and password for FTP as the server, or you are using a nonstandard FTP port. Q: The ping/tracert doesn't work. A: These functions use a 3rd-party website (dnsstuff.com) to perform these functions. The site may be down. Q: It doesn't log any notifications, at all. A: You specified the wrong logfile under the configuration options. Make sure that it matches the case as the file. And make sure that you CHMODed the logfile to 755 or 777. Hope that helps. "
