DDoSPing is a remote network scanner for the most common DDoS programs. May detect Trinoo, Stacheldraht and Tribe Flood Network programs running with their default settings, although configuration of each program type is possible from the tool's configuartion screen. Scanning is performed by sending the appropriate UDP and ICMP messages at a controllable rate to a user-defined range of addresses. DDosPing searches a network for the presence of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) agents. The IP Addresses of suspicious hosts are put together in a list. DDosPing is a specialized port scanner, which query those ports that are typically used by the widely-distributed DDoS agents Trinoo, and Tribe Flood. Using this tool in a foreign network is often seen as an attack, as attackers would scan the same ports.
